This is a fantastically complex Godello from the up-and-coming Bierzo region of north-west Spain. The nose has ripe tropical fruit aromas - guava, apple, and citrus with a hint of white flower. The ripe, textural and complex palate has crisp acidity, white spice and a lengthy finish.
Gancedo have 13 hectares of vines - the majority of which were planted in the first half of the twentieth century. The vineyards have loamy soils with some quartz, and the Godello grapes are harvested by hand as the vines are densely planted across 62 small plots. The estate added a modern winery and cellar in 2000 to be able to ensure fresh and high quality wines reach the consumer. This is a fantastically complex Godello from the up-and-coming Bierzo region of north-west Spain.
