Francois Millet Le Chene Marchand Sancerre 2018
A superb Sancerre from small producer Francois Millet.
This is one of the top wines from small producer Francois Millet, made from vines that are over 35 years old. On the palate the wine has fleshy texture and immediately reveals rounded flavours of pear, peach and mango. The finish is fresh and lingering, with good minerality that is typical of the Sancerre region. Enjoy with fish dishes or the classic Crottin de Chavignol goat's cheese.
This is a limited selection from vines grown on the famous Chene Marchand limestone-rich soils that face south, catching the best of the sun's rays. The wine spends 6 months aging on its lees to add complexity and depth. A top-notch Sancerre. François is the fifth generation of his family to make wine in Bué in Sancerre.
