Domaine du Chalet Pouilly, Mâcon Solutre 2019
This Mâcon-Solutré is exclusive to Slurp in the UK. A lovely well-balanced Burgundy offering great value.
This Mâcon Solutre has a light yellow appearance in the glass with greenish tints. The aroma is fresh with green apple, pear, citrus and white blossom. The palate is bright and fresh, with ripe pear and apple fruit, slightly honeyed, with refreshing notes of citrus and a mineral character. This is a lovely example, a little richer in style than many Macons, but which is still well balanced and with a long and rich apple fruit finish. Enjoy now, or can be cellared for around 3-4 years. The winemakers recommend matching with a Scallop salad, or is a good choice for roast chicken, pork and cheeses.
Domaine du Chalet Pouilly is located in the small and beautiful village of Solutre-Pouilly, on a sun-soaked hillside overlooking the small hamlet of Pouilly, in the heart of the "Pouilly-Fuissé" appellation. The Plumet family have produced wine here for more than a century, having planted the original vines in 1850, and were awarded first prize at the Mâcon wine competition for their Burgundy wine in 1928 - well before the Pouilly-Fuissé and Saint-Véran appellations had even been created! The viticultural and winemaking expertise gained over time has been passed down from generation to generation. Today the Domaine is run by Bernard and Agnès Léger-Plumet, who produce three stunning 100% Chardonnay wines; Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran and Mâcon-Solutré. We're delighted to import and offer these superb wines exclusively in the UK.
