Domaine de la Pousse d’Or Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Le Cailleret 2004
A special parcel of mature 2004 1er Cru Puligny-Montrachet from the famous Domaine de la Pousse d’Or .
The Volney-based Domaine de la Pousse d'Or was established in 1954. Its vineyards consist of mainly premier and grand crus in the villages of Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Corton, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay. The history of this famous old estate can be traced back to the Dukes of Burgundy and the year 1100! The domaine today has 18 hectares under the ownership of Patrick Landanger, who has invested heavily in both vineyards and the winery. The vines are farmed organically and biodynamically, and wines are produced as naturally as possible and are suitable for Vegans. This is a special parcel of stunning and mature Puligny-Montrachet from the 1er Cru Le Cailleret vineyard - located right next door the iconic Le Montrechet no less!
This mature 1er Cru Puligny-Montrachet is a sumptuous Burgundian Chardonnay, with fully developed complexity. It's a delicious example from a famouse domaine and is full of rich, buttery, toasted hazelnut flavours around a smoky, savoury, mineral core. This is drinking so well still with suprising freshness and is simply delicious.
