This is an exceptional Hermitage from top producer Delas. The 2012 Domaine des Tourettes showcases why Hermitage is one of the wine world's most famous and historic styles, and offers Syrah at it's very best. Delas was founded in 1835 in the heart of the Northern Rhone, and today has a reputation of producing world class wines. Hermitage is perhaps the most famous example of Syrah, and is a small perfectly placed hill which enjoys ideal conditions for this grape, and which produces long lived wines which can cellar for decades.
"2012 Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes is a stunning effort that exhibits blockbuster notes of toasted spice, leather, peppery herbs and sweet black and blue fruit. Seeing 16 months in 60% new French oak, it's a powerful, concentrated and full-bodied effort that has lots of tannin, but more than enough fruit to handle it." 95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
