De Bortoli Vinoque Novo Tinto Touriga Nacional Blend 2017
A dark and enticing Iberian blend based on Touriga Nacional, this is plump, spicy, rich and highly enjoyable.
De Bortoli are one of Australia's most famous and historic winemaking families. This new range bottled under the 'Vinoque' label is a chance to showcase their experimental side, and offers unique flavours and styles which prove how versatile Australia can really be. The wines include a mouthwatering Greco, usually found in southern Italy, a fruity Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir blend - the only one we've come across, plus a dark and enticing Iberian blend based on Touriga Nacional. Alongside the interesting grapes and blends, the range is also sourced from specific premium regions such as Yarra Valley and Heathcote. If this wasn't enough, they are well-priced and offer superb value for money.
This Iberian style blend of Touriga Nacional, Tempranillo and Tinta Cao is full-bodied, full-flavoured and highly enjoyable. A deep purple colour, this has lovely blackberry, raspberry and violet aromas, with a richly fruited palate of ripe damson and blackberry fruit, with some spice and savoury notes. A wine to drink while young to fully enjoy its vibrant fruit.
