Contero Brachetto d'Acqui DOCG 2017
A clean, dry, lightly sparkling red that is perfect for parties or alongside charcuterie.
The Contero vineyards, situated in a perfect amphitheatre in the commune of Strevi, the heart of one of the best zones for Brachetto in Piemonte, are superbly tended, producing fruit of stunning quality. They are located on steep hills with tufaceous-marl soils which contain layers of fertile clay. The vines are Guyot trained (4800 vines per hectare) and hand harvested in wooden boxes while the average yield is 5 tonnes per hectare. The grapes for this wine were pressed gently and the must fermented on the skins at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The wine was drawn from the vat at an alcohol content of 6% and bottled under pressure for a light sparkle.
This wine is light, frothing cherry pink in colour, with fresh, rose petal and turkish delight perfumes and a sweet, fresh mousse on the palate. It is clean, dry and persistent on the finish, making this a marvellous wine for parties, drinks with friends or alongside charcuterie.
