Cocchi Americano Rosa Aperitif Wine
Cocchi Americano Rosa is red wine aromatised with a blend of herbs and spices
Cocchi Americano is an aromatised wine created in 1891 by Giulio Cocchi and since then produced without interruption according to the original recipe. The name “Americano” is both due to the alcohol made bitter (“amaricato”) by the addition of herbs and spices and to the American habit of drinking vermouth with ice and soda. Produced according to Giulio Cocchi original recipe, Cocchi Americano is recognized in Asti as the aperitif par excellence. On its label is the original futurist rooster designed in the 1930’s which represents the drink as an aperitif (“it awakes the appetite”) as well as being one of the symbols of the town of Asti.
Cocchi Rosa is produced from red wine, from which it derives its colour and wild rose notes. As with the Bianco artemisia, Cinchona, bitter orange peel and elderflower among others are all infused along with but with the addition of saffron, vanilla and rose petals. Its beautiful red colour is completely natural and derives from the wine. Delicious when served with soda water, over ice and with a twist of lemon peel.
