Chateau Montviel Pomerol 2011 150cl Magnum
Deep and dark this exquisite Pomerol displays the Right Bank of Bordeaux at its finest
A pronounced nose of deep black fruits with hints of dried berries and vanilla. The palate is rich and full bodied, with both red and black fruits. The oak aging imparts spicy notes as well as hints of cocoa. The finish is long complex with an element of chewiness. This is drinking excellently now and will age well over the next few years.
"Owned by the late Catherine Pere-Verge (who made major improvements at Montviel during her lifetime), this 2011 exhibits more fruit, acidity and richness as well as a burgeoning complexity than previous examples. Medium-bodied with lots of red and black fruits, and a clean, pure finish, the 2011 can be consumed over the next decade." The Wine Advocate
Chateau Montviel was the first Pomerol estate purchased by Catherine Pere-Verge. She bought the Chateau in 1985. Chateau Montviel was created from vineyards belonging to three little known properties including; Bellevue-Montviel and La Croix des Templiers, as well as Montviel. Following her purchase and creation of the new vineyard for Chateau Montviel, Catherine Pere Verge continued adding to her holdings in Pomerol when she subsequently obtained Chateau Le Gay, located on the famous plateau of Pomerol.
