Château Lestrille Entre Deux Mers Bordeaux Blanc 2017
A fantastic example of how Bordeaux Blanc should be made
At Château Lestrille, Estelle and Jean Louis Roumage make wines that are modern in style and fruit-driven. Because they believe the essance of winemaking lies in the vineyard itself, they use sustainable winegrowing practices.
A wine with ‘a delicate nose and waxy texture’, according to team leader Annette Scarfe MW, who enjoyed its ‘core of ripe lemon, and savoury lees notes on the palate adding texture and structure’.
A bright and fresh unoaked white wine bursting with zesty lime, pear and slightly grassy aromas. Pear and citrus flavours on the lively palate are wonderfully fresh with minerality and fresh grass notes. A lovely weekday white Bordeaux, this Sauvignon Blanc is perfect for Spring and Summer salads and a great match with seafood such as crab ravioli or oysters.
