Château Lestrille Capmartin Bordeaux Blanc 2016
A fantastic example of how Bordeaux Blanc should be made
At Château Lestrille, Estelle and Jean Louis Roumage make wines that are modern in style and fruit-driven. Because they believe the essance of winemaking lies in the vineyard itself, they use sustainable winegrowing practices.
A wine with ‘a delicate nose and waxy texture’, according to team leader Annette Scarfe MW, who enjoyed its ‘core of ripe lemon, and savoury lees notes on the palate adding texture and structure’.
A smooth, ripe wine bursting with white peach flavours and suberb lemon freshness. Concentrated apricot flavours on the palate are generously kissed by spicy wood and the palate finishes with a long rich, toasty note. A classy and elegant white Bordeaux.
