Château Lestrille Capmartin 2012
A great Bordeaux wine that delivers excellent value, very well made and difficult to ignore
At Château Lestrille, Estelle Roumage makes wines that are modern in style and fruit-driven. Because they believe the essence of winemaking lies in the vineyard itself, they use sustainable winegrowing practices. The estate is nestled at the northern point of the Entre-deux-Mers appellation in the small town of St. Germain du Puch between Libourne and Bordeaux. The 2012 Bordeaux vintage here delivers wines that have a wonderful finesse, balance and freshness. Wines from this year show exceptional quality and are now drinking excellently, however retain the ability to age.
This is a medium-bodied Bordeaux Supérieur made with 81% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Sauvignon showing concentrated fruit aromas backed by delicate woody notes from French oak. In the mouth is has a lovely freshness, while the structure shows high quality tannins. Nicely balanced, velvety and full of finesse the 2012 vintage is showing very well now.
