Chateau le Trouillet Bergerac 2016
The perfect red for those looking for a great value Bordeaux style that is ready to drink.
Bergerac, just west of Bordeaux , is famous for making wines using the same grape varieties and in a similar style but without the often hefty price tag. Chateau le Trouillet is a small 5th generation family-owned property located on a hillside in the town of Gageac Rouillac, with just 22 hecatres of vineyards. The wine is unoaked and instead aged 6-8 months in steel tanks, giving a fresher more fruit-forward style, ideal for a Bordeaux-style wine that is ready to drink now.
This generous blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc has plenty of red, blackberry and plum fruit. Velvety smooth, with rounded tannins and, being medium bodied and unoaked, this is the perfect red for those looking for a Bordeaux style that is ready to drink. Great with beef, hard cheeses and game dishes. Drink now till 2020.
