Château Grand Moulin Macquin Montagne St Emilion 2015
Château Grand Moulin Macquin is a superb example from a bijoux property just 3km outside of Saint-Émilion town
The Right Bank of the River Gironde is home to some of Bordeaux’s most important names based in the villages of Pomerol and St Emilion. Montagne St Emilion, one of the satellite areas just to the north of St Emilion and is regarded as probably the best of the satellites. The Chateau Grand Moulin Macquin is an old estate going back to the 17th century and the current owners are the fourth generation running the estate.
Adjacent to Bordeaux’s famous St Emilion, Montagne St Emilion has an excellent reputation for its style and offers great value for money.
A rich, vibrant, cherried nose with soft spicy notes and hints of fresh leather adding complexity. Dark and brooding with black and red fruits shining through on the palate. Still youthful, you can certainly enjoy it now (decant for an hour or so in advance) but it will get even better with age
