Ca' di Rajo Marino Venezia Rosso 2016
Decanter World Wine Awards 2019 - 95 points Gold Medal
Founded in 2005 thanks to the experience of the Cecchetto family, wine producers since 1931, the Ca’ di Rajo winery is run by brothers Alessio and Fabio Simone. They use the most innovative winemaking technologies, however, the modern facility and young team are located in a fascinating historical context, in an estate located within a medieval village. Symbols of the glorious past of the countryside that extends from Conegliano to Oderzo, the Chiesetta del Carmine, the neighboring Casa Convento and the Tower of Rai from the 14th century, which stands next to the modern winery.
"Intense potpourri, plum, tobacco, dried mint, coffee, vanilla and leather aromatics. Focused in the mouth with notes of vanilla, fine firm tannins, plus well-judged extraction and acidity. A lovely food style."
The Marinò is a blend of 20% Raboso Piave, 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon which is a deep red in colour with a nose of morel, dewberry, black cherry and plum with notes of cinnamon, vanilla, tobacco, violet and pepper. The palate is luxurious, with a considerable structure and smooth, heavy tannins. Its flavour, together with a pleasant acidity and a good alcohol content, gives a long and delicious finish.
