Broken Heart Gin
An intricate balance of eleven herbs and surprisingly good with a twist of orange.
The nose is piney as a result of the juniper. The added angelica gives this gin body and an earthy quality, which is complemented by pimento pepper. The gin strikes a fine balance, with the more delicate botanicals, such as lavender and lemon peel, ensuring smoothness. The finish is citrussy, clean and extremely well balanced.
The story of Broken Heart Gin begins with two Germans living in New Zealand’s Southern Alps, Joerg was a pilot and Bernd an engineer. Both of them were philosophers and Master Distillers, and set out to make a superb gin together. Sadly, Bernd unexpectedly fell ill and tragically passed away. To commemorate his friend and to mark a new beginning, Joerg released Broken Heart gin. The aim was to make a perfumed and crisp gin to drink at dusk, cherishing those ‘moments in between’. We liked this gin upon first sniff for its aromatic complexity, intensity and clean finish.
