Bodega Gotica Badajo Rueda Verdejo 2018
A delicious Rueda Verdejo made from 100% estate grown fruit which is fermented at very low temperatures
Bodega Gotica are a family business that has been producing grapes for several generations in the municipality of Rueda. In 2004, they started the production of wines with grapes always produced by them. The plantation is in trellis located in the municipality of Rueda across four plots.
The Badajo Verdejo is a white wine made by Bodega Gótica in the Spanish Town of Rueda (Valladolid), in the Rueda D.O., from the grapes Verdejo (80%) and Viura (20%). The grapes, coming from winery’s own vineyards, are picked up during the night to profit from the lower temperatures so that the grapes arrive cold to the winery where they are then “crio macerated” and long fermented at a very low temperatures, to extract the best qualities from the grapes.
The Badajo Verdejo has a fresh and dry flavour, with a good acidity degree that combines with a citrus retro-nose and surrounds the mouth with a soft creaminess. Citrus fruits juice as lemon and grapefruit stand out, combined with other softer notes such as Lemon Balm tea. A perfect wine to be enjoyed alone, and also to be paired with roast and grilled vegetables, soft flavour meats as pork, fish and shellfish. Drink now.
