Now Autumn is here we thought it would be a good time to highlight some of our favourite wines for the season, from invigorating whites to warming reds. Enjoy!
Domaine de Vedilhan Serica Viognier 2016: This is Viognier as it should be, with a rich and creamy texture that flows easily into a pear-drop and fresh peach palate and a hint of spice. You won't find many better Viogniers outside of Condrieu than this one, and the best part is that it's only £9.95! https://www.slurp.co.uk/domaine-de-vedilhan-serica-viognier-2016
Greywacke Wild Sauvignon 2014: At our recent New Zealand wine tasting this was one of the most talked about wines on the night. It isn't your usual NZ Sauvignon Blanc, with a little hint at oak age that is wonderfully intricate in its balance with the more typical Passionfruit and Lemon Citrus flavours you would expect. A very classy option at £22.95. https://www.slurp.co.uk/greywacke-wild-sauvignon-2014
Bodegas Enrique Mendoza 'La Tremenda' Monastrell 2014: A seriously cracking red for the money, full-bodied and deliciously fruity. It is a lovely wine at anytime but it will do a great job of keeping the colder nights at bay for a little longer. Each bottle is yours for just £11.95. https://www.slurp.co.uk/bodegas-enrique-mendoza-la-tremenda-monastrell-2014
Il Falchetto Bricco Paradiso Barbera d'Asti 2014: Our wine of the year, this is a beautifully well made Barbera which is bound to impress. The palate is complex with rich and layered red and black fruits, with a hint of sour cherry and elegant oak. This is the perfect treat for an Autumnal Friday night, priced at £19.95. https://www.slurp.co.uk/il-falchetto-bricco-paradiso-barbera-d-asti-2014
