Bethany Barossa Chardonnay 2016
*Limited Parcel*
A lovely oaked Aussie Charddonay, with orchard fruits and oak spice.
The brilliant white gold colour, fragrant aromas of peach and honeydew and flavours of lemon and peacharine are no doubt why so many people enjoy Bethany Chardonnay. The nose has lemon and green apple skin notes plus a light spice character from subtle use of French oak during fermentation and maturation. Lees stirring provides the palate with a textural quality that gives pace and weight to the orchard fruits and oak spice. The finish is fresh, balanced and long. Perfect with antipasto, seafood in a cream sauce or soft cheeses.
Today Bethany Wines are being run by fifth and sixth generations of the same Schrapel family, who planted their first vineyards in 1852. Geoff and Robert’s philosophy is to produce exceptional, elegant, food-friendly wines - wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Barossa Ranges. This Chardonnay was fermented in French oak and then left on lees and stirred to add further complexity to the style.
