Berton Vineyards Winemakers Reserve Durif 2020
For lovers of big, inky-black reds - a delicious wine with rich, ripe concentrated dark fruits combined with hints of spice and chocolate.
Intense aromas of violets, blackberry and subtle chocolate notes are showcased in this fabulous Durif. Inky, dark fruit characters of blackberry are complemented by a touch of anise and smoky liquorice filling the concentrated palate. Integrated spicy oak and tight tannins add complexity and depth that persist through to a long flavoursome finish. If you like BIG, BLACK reds, this is for you!
Durif is a cross between Syrah and little known variety called Peloursin and is sometimes known as Petite Sirah. This parcel of Durif has been chosen from a single vineyard, the ‘Foleys Corner Vineyard’, which overlooks Griffith in the Riverina, New South Wales.
Berton Vineyards was established in 1996 by Bob and Cherie Berton when they purchased a block of land in High Eden, a subregion of the Barossa Valley, South Australia. With the combination of modern technology and techniques of years gone by, Berton Vineyards is quietly making its mark on the wine world. Wine enthusiasts from all around the globe are seeking them out to find wines that are high quality and suit their individual palates.
