Berton Vineyard Limited Reserve Gundagai Shiraz 2017
A velvety smooth, opulent and stylish wine with intense aromas of blackberry, black cherry and vanilla oak. Big, bold and flavoursome.
Ruby red in colour, the first thing you notice are rich, intense aromas of blackberry and black cherry with hints of charry oak. The palate is rich with juicy berry fruits coupled with a unique mineral character and subtle vanillin and cedar box notes. The palate is velvety with soft, well integrated tannins.
Established by Bob and Cherie Berton in May 1996, the Berton Vineyard estate covers 30 hectares of land located on gently rolling hills at 450 metres above sea level, in a subregion of Eden Valley in South Australia.
Their Reserve Limited Edition wines aim to let the terroir - or region - shine as here with this excellent example from the Gundagai region in New South Wales, first planted in 1877 and now enjoying a renaissance.
