David Maitre Vigneron Mauzac Sauvignon 2006
Various different vineyards get lumped together under France's 'southwest' banner, which can be misleading - some of them are not particularly close in terms of location and style of wine produced. Chateau Clement Termes has been in the David family for nearly 150 years, and is currently run by Francois David, a passionate vigneron who has 60 hectares under vines and a super modern and well equipped cellar, where he makes a broad range of different styles of wine. This wine, a delicious blend of Sauvignon Blanc, making it crisp, with local Mauzac grape, for increased body, makes this French white wine fresh and smooth but not too zesty or acidy. An excellent everyday white wine from a top producer at an excellent price. Miles better than supermarket own label at the same price.
