'Precision from vine to glass' is the mantra at the domaine of Jean-Marc Boillot, who has been making exquisite wines in Côte de Beaune for nearing 50 years. Originally setting up his highly-regarded estate back in 1985, Boillot now owns 14ha of vineyards across several appellations which includes Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard, Volnay and Macon. The average ages of the vines across these vineyards is over 50 years old, and nearly all are situated on prime clay-limestone hillside slope plots. Jean-Marc Boillot’s winemaking expertise and prowess is immediately clear when you taste his wines, having refined his craft with Olivier Leflaive before setting out on his own, his eponymous family estate is run by Jean-Marc himself, aided by his son and daughter.

The Platinum Award winning Jean-Marc Boillot Macon-Villages 2014 is superb. Only 9,000 bottles are made each year and Jean-Marc's aim to create in his words a "fresh, aromatic wine with good length and one that gives immediate pleasure" is clearly accomplished.

"Fantastic aromas of toast and vanilla complement the rich, zesty lime and stony minerality. Delicious fruit concentration is underpinned by a round, fleshy, complex palate that leads to a zesty, mineral finish. Precise, harmonious and drinking superbly now”  - 95pts Decanter Magazine
