*"A consummate rosé." - Gillbert & Gaillard*
The wines of Château de l'Aumérade come from a 400 year old estate located in the heart of Provence that dates back to the Renaissance period. This Château has held Cru Classé since the original Provence appellation was created in 1955.
The Cuvée Marie-Christine rosé is made exclusively from a Cru Classé parcel, located on the plains of Pierrefeu. The mineral rich terroir of red clay and limestone soils in this parcel provide perfect conditions for the vines which are cooled by the salty Mistral winds blowing in from the sea just a few miles away.
The 2016 vintage has a lovely pale powder pink hue, with refreshing aromas of grapefruit leading to succulent peach and apricot on the palate. Fruit forward and full, with a hint of spice, this elegant rosé has a refreshing acidity and a long beautiful finish. French wine experts Gilbert & Gaillard called it "A consummate rosé.".
"Rose petal hue. Delicate nose halfway between minerality, heady flowers and scents of grapefruit and white fruits. Fleshy, refined palate showing seductive fat, silky texture and persistent freshness enhancing aroma. A consummate rosé." - Gillbert & Gaillard
On the 2015
“The light pink colored 2015 Cotes de Provence Rose Cuvee Marie Christine is fabulous. Silky, layered and seamless, with notes of orange blossom, caramelized cherries, salty seawater and distinct minerality, it's impeccably balanced, has perfectly integrated acidity and a great finish. Impressive and Bravo!“- 91pts, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
