The large Languedoc region has a wealth of micro climates ranging from the hot plains to the cooler hills. With this wide choice of terroir it is possible to grow  just about any grape with great results.

President of the century old Foncalieu cellar, Michael Bataille, is a descendant of one of its original founding families. He and his team made a rigorous selectionof fruit from the ideal Pinot Noir vineyards to produce this elegant wine with plenty of varietal character at a very attractive price. It is aromatic with plenty of red fruit and liquorice flavours. The tannins are smooth and it has a long refined finish. Classy.

'It’s made at the oldest co-operative cellar in France (also voted ‘The Best’ by Le Revue du Vin de France). Wonderfully aromatic with complex notes of red fruits and liquorice. Full of flavour with smooth and gentle tannins.' Winery tasting notes.
