Chateau Beaumont Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois 1997

This a good sized Cru Bourgeois estate that received large investment in the 1980s when taken over by Grands Millésimes. It produces good value, solid quality Cru Bourgeois claret that won't break the bank. The estate is situated in the heart of the Medoc between Margaux and St Julien and planted in classic Medoc proportions with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon dominating. Aged for 14 months in one third new oak, this is extremely satisfying claret. Aromatic with creamy black fruit on the palate, very complete and of satisfyingly solid quality. Robert Parker Rating:86/100
