Cotes de Bourg Cuvee Barriques 2004
Chateau Nodoz is one of the top estates in the Cotes de Bourg, which is an area just across the Gironde estuary from Margaux in the Medoc and is an excellent hunting ground for good value claret. The blend is made up of 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. This wine come from some of the best gravel terroirs on the estate and has had 16 months in new French oak. It has a deep intense colour and a complex nose that combines dark fuit and spicy oak. On the palate there is ripe blackberry and plum fruit held in place by a good tannic structure.
