Based on a clay and limestone plateau just to the south of Bergerac in the heart of Dordogne. The style of wine is influenced by the proximity of Bordeaux. This Monbazillac is 90% Semillon, 10% Muscadelle. Great value Sauternes style botrytised sweet wine. These wines have a long history and can be dated back to 1080. Lovely gold colour with ripe honeyed fruit, good with cheese and foie gras.
