Direct Sales Staff
We are currently recruiting experienced sales staff with a successful track record of direct sales. Telephone experience is preferred but candidates demonstrating the ability to sell in a face to face environment are also welcome to apply. Candidates will need dynamism and tenacity and a wide ranging knowledge of global wine, spirit and specialist beer products. Software Developers
We are recruiting the very best software developers to join a dynamic development team. Slurp.co.uk is revolutionising the way wine is sold online in the UK, but the fun is only just beginning. As we move to the hyper-growth phase of the online migration in this sector we require a number of new software developers to work on all aspects of our web platform.
The successful applicant will have an extremely dynamic and innovative attitude to development and problem solving. Specifically, candidates will need to demonstrate expertise in:
- Object oriented PHP
- LAMP stack administration
- Standards based HTML/XHTML with CSS and Javascript
Desirable skills will include:
- mod rewrite
- Jquery
- SEO
- Bash Scripting
- Experience working on custom ecommerce systems including common credit card payment gateways, Paypal, Google Checkout etc.
- Good understanding of version control and version control systems
- Website design skills
- Knowledge of DNS system

Logistics Staff
The logistics department is at the hub of the action at Slurp Wine, dealing with everything from the moment a customer places an order to the point they receive their wine. We are currently recruiting for two positions within the Slurp Logistics department to join our rapidly growing team based in West London.
- Logistics Admin Support (ref SWJ01)
- Slurp Logistics Apprentice (ref SWJ02)
Slurp Logistics Admin Support: (ref SWJ01)
We are looking for a dedicated, customer service-orientated individual who can provide support to the logistics team in the daily organisation of the department. Ideally a role suited to someone who has at least Intermediate WSET wine knowledge or has worked in a customer service role for at least six months within the wine trade; it will involve daily contact with customers to follow up on any logistics enquiries or issues. Applicants should be able to manage a wide range of jobs independently, be organised, have strong communication and IT skills, good attention to detail, the ability to work well under pressure, good relationship management, the ability to work well with others in the office, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and concisely via telephone and email to customers, suppliers and service providers.The Slurp Logistics Apprenticeship: (ref SWJ02)
The successful candidate will be trained in all logistical duties at Slurp Wine over the course of a year and will work towards becoming the Assistant Logistics Manager, assuming responsibility for the day-to-day running of the warehouse including stock management, managing suppliers & purchasing. This is a role with considerable responsibility and scope for advancement throughout the company. The Logistics Apprenticeship includes learning all aspects of the logistic department, including compiling stock orders, packing and labelling stock, maintaining stock levels, overseeing the smooth-running of daily customer orders, booking in deliveries and arranging collections from couriers. The ideal candidate will be able to follow instructions, be quick and efficient and thrive in a busy and physical environment. They must also be responsible and trustworthy as well as numerate, IT literate and assertive with a flexible but highly professional attitude. Experience of manual handling and working in a small retail warehouse or shop is be preferred but an enthusiasm to learn, common sense and above all a passion for the wine industry are valued highest.These are two excellent and exciting opportunities for people who are interested in working in the wine industry and wish to get their ‘foot in the door’ at an established wine merchant. Salary is commensurate with experience and candidates must be available immediately. Slurp routinely offers Internships in wine in all areas of the business: logistics, sales, product management, IT and accountancy/back office. Internships are typically three months, although we can be flexible for exceptional candidates. Internships often lead to the offer of full time employment.
